Sustainability and Listing Compliance Certificate (SLCC) - Advanced Level
This Course reflects the new dynamism of the Institute, after its recent successful conclusion of a number of pilot intakes of The Operation Finance and Compliance Certificate Level III Course in 2019, in addressing the latest needs and developments of the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Industry:
1. Subsequent to HKEX cancelling the requirement of a Listed Companies (“listcos”) having a Qualified Accountant in 2010, it has now proposed to waive the need for China-based listco’s to mandate a Chartered Secretary.
2. While HKEX is planning to tighten the Reporting requirements on Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG), which will be effective for the financial year commencing on 1 July 2020 or after, the demand for training for the requisite ESG reporting skill set has become inevitable.
3. So far there has been no comprehensive and structured training in the financial market on modern investment skills on spin-off corporate finance, green bonds and impact investments, or practical aspect of Sustainability.
The course aims to give participants the insight to systematically identify, manage and deal with GRC (Governance, Risk Management and Compliance) Issues pertaining to listcos matters. We believe, our students will learn to handle dynamic listco activities and become gate-keepers and good stewards as Directors and Senior Executives of the ever-changing, but increasingly stringent, regulatory environments, which hinges on civil and criminal liabilities. We believe that this course will help them strike a reasonable balance in their career development. This Certificate Course aims to impart firm Practical Knowledge to those who aspire to take on a Senior Management role, be them Executive Directors, INEDs, CEOs, CFOs, CIOs, Company Secretaries or Compliance Officers of listcos in Hong Kong.
